Pedernales Falls Day Five (our last)

Today was our last full day on vacation.  We are going to get up in the morning and eat breakfast, finish packing up and then head home about nap time.

After Emilee's morning nap we headed to Wimberly for a little shopping

On our way back to the campers we stopped and checked out Blanco State Park

This afternoon we hiked down "The Pedernales Falls"  Chance, Emilee and I went in the early afternoon and then Josh, Ashley and Sam went early evening. We should have waited because it was nice and warm when we went...  Ashley got some nice "early evening light" pictures

Sam found her a "walking stick"

We ended the evening with the girls swimming in the pool/bath tub while playing with bubbles and feeding the deer

We had a few deer come out each day.  Josh and Chance went and bought some corn so we have been feeding them all week.  I'm sure they'll be sad when we leave.

Pedernales Falls Day Four (I think)

Let's start tonight's post with some attitude and cuteness.  =)

This morning while the guys ran to town for a few things and a few loads of laundry Ashley and I decided to have a crazy moment and took the girls rock climbing down to the Twin Falls.  It made for some cute pictures.

This one thanks to the timer on the camera.  Shortly after this I fell into the water trying to put my shoes back on.

After lunch we did a little minnow trapping, swimming and fishing.  I had to leave a little early because Emilee decided that she would rather take a nap so we headed back to the campers.

We ended this evening with smores.  If you look in the top left corner you can see the deer just eating and not caring that they aren't too far from us.  Could be because we put corn out for them so they like us now.

Pedernales Falls Day Three

We had another good day today.  This morning I had to run up to town looking for a better cell signal to make some calls about Emilee's surgery.  Just a reality check that her surgery is a little over a week away. But we'll think about that later.

It rained on us this morning so we decided to go into Fredericksburg and do some shopping.  After that we stopped by Lyndon B. Johnson State Park for a CD guided tour.  They have fields of wild flowers.  Although they were very pretty today I bet the are breath taking when the blue bonnets are in bloom.  We could see the seeds, so we know they were there.  We'll have to come back next year to see them.

We took some pictures of the girls before starting our tour.

After we got back to the campers Ashley and I decided we were still determined to find the "Twin Falls".   Twin Falls alright...  Ashley almost fell into a huge patch of cactus (cacti) and then I almost fell into the river. We rode our bikes for the first part and then had to HIKE again.  We didn't know that we were going to get such a good workout on vacation. But it was pretty.

There is a small platform that they call a senic overlook.  Here's the view from that.

There's the platform.  We hiked/rock climbed down below (where the sign specifically told us not to go) for a better view

It was beautifyul and peaceful up close.

The water was freezing. But we had fun.

We ended the day watching "The Biggest Loser" via skype thanks to my mom.  Ashley and I left the girls with their dads and headed up to the camp headquaters where we found a wireless signal and watch on my mom's TV through the computer while sitting in the car.  We got to watch all but the last 10 minutes...  The best part. (my laptop that mom was using died)  Ashley's mom, Kim, had to give us the play by play of the last three weigh in's to find out who one.  It was fun.

Tomorrow we plan on going to see "The Pedernales Falls", do some more swimming and maybe some fishing... we'll see...
