Pedernales Falls Day Three

We had another good day today.  This morning I had to run up to town looking for a better cell signal to make some calls about Emilee's surgery.  Just a reality check that her surgery is a little over a week away. But we'll think about that later.

It rained on us this morning so we decided to go into Fredericksburg and do some shopping.  After that we stopped by Lyndon B. Johnson State Park for a CD guided tour.  They have fields of wild flowers.  Although they were very pretty today I bet the are breath taking when the blue bonnets are in bloom.  We could see the seeds, so we know they were there.  We'll have to come back next year to see them.

We took some pictures of the girls before starting our tour.

After we got back to the campers Ashley and I decided we were still determined to find the "Twin Falls".   Twin Falls alright...  Ashley almost fell into a huge patch of cactus (cacti) and then I almost fell into the river. We rode our bikes for the first part and then had to HIKE again.  We didn't know that we were going to get such a good workout on vacation. But it was pretty.

There is a small platform that they call a senic overlook.  Here's the view from that.

There's the platform.  We hiked/rock climbed down below (where the sign specifically told us not to go) for a better view

It was beautifyul and peaceful up close.

The water was freezing. But we had fun.

We ended the day watching "The Biggest Loser" via skype thanks to my mom.  Ashley and I left the girls with their dads and headed up to the camp headquaters where we found a wireless signal and watch on my mom's TV through the computer while sitting in the car.  We got to watch all but the last 10 minutes...  The best part. (my laptop that mom was using died)  Ashley's mom, Kim, had to give us the play by play of the last three weigh in's to find out who one.  It was fun.

Tomorrow we plan on going to see "The Pedernales Falls", do some more swimming and maybe some fishing... we'll see...
